In plain words: The bird wrasse has a long, thin nose. It looks like a bird's beak. It swims by flapping its side fins like wings. That is how it got its name. It lives on coral reefs in the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Hawaii and down to Australia.

About the Green Bird Wrasse (Male) (M)

This is a male bird wrasse in the medium size, showing the green coloring of a mature male. Bird wrasses are hardy and easy to feed on meaty frozen foods, but they grow to nearly a foot and need a tank of at least 125 gallons with a tight lid, since they jump. They leave corals alone but eat shrimp, crabs, snails and small fish, and can bully slow or timid tankmates.
