Shaving brush algae look just like their name: a calcified stalk topped with a dense, brush-like head. They grow from a holdfast in sandy lagoons, so plant the base in the sand bed of a reef tank or refugium. Give them good light and keep calcium and alkalinity steady for healthy growth. This is a medium plant.
