Penicillus sp.

A large Shaving Brush plant that stands up from the sand bed like a little palm tree.
In stock and eating
This larger shaving brush has a firm stalk and a full tuft of green filaments, a striking accent for open sand in a reef display or a refugium. Bury the holdfast in sand, give it moderate to strong light and keep reef-level calcium and alkalinity, since the plant builds calcium carbonate into its stalk. It stays put and grows slowly.
