A large Mermaid's Fan for a natural seagrass-bed look in a reef tank or refugium.
In stock and eating
This larger mermaid's fan is a calcified green alga from shallow sandy flats, with a broad fan-shaped blade on a stiff stalk. Bury its holdfast in the sand bed, give it strong lighting and keep calcium and alkalinity at reef levels so it can keep building its frond. It grows slowly and stays where you plant it.
