A medium-size lyretail grouper with a yellow-trimmed lyre tail, for owners of very large fish-only tanks.
In stock and eating
A medium lyretail grouper is still a youngster: its color deepens toward red with blue spotting as it grows, and the tail stretches into a deep crescent with yellow trim. Feed it meaty marine foods such as silversides, krill and squid, about every other day once grown. It eats small fish and crustaceans and reaches more than 30 inches, so it needs a 300-gallon or larger system with tankmates too big to swallow.
Hi! Ask us anything about fish, corals, inverts or your order. We’re away from the tanks right now, so leave a message and we’ll answer here and by email.
