About the Black-Spotted Puffer (M)

Black-spotted puffers, better known as dogface puffers, are intelligent, interactive fish that come in gray, yellow and other color phases. This is a medium-size fish; adults reach about 13 inches and need a fish-only tank of 150 gallons or more, ideally glass, because the beak can scratch acrylic. Feed whole clams, shell-on shrimp, squid and krill. It eats corals and invertebrates, so it is not reef safe.
