In plain words: The argus grouper is a dark brown fish covered in hundreds of tiny blue dots. Each dot has a thin black ring around it, so it looks like a little eye. That is how the fish got its name.

About the Argus Grouper (M)

Named after the hundred-eyed giant of Greek myth, the argus (peacock) grouper is chocolate brown and covered in small blue spots, each ringed in black, and larger fish add pale bars toward the tail. This listing is a medium-size fish. It is a hardy predator that likes to perch on rock and hide in caves, and it eats small fish, shrimp and crabs. Adults reach about two feet, so plan for a tank of 180 gallons or more.
