In plain words: A lobo coral looks like a pile of soft, fleshy pillows or a brain with deep folds. Under the soft part is a hard skeleton with tall, sharp spikes. Lobos come in red, green, orange, brown and blue. Many have two colors in rings or stripes.

About the Symphyllia Coral

Sold for years as Symphyllia, this meandering brain coral is now placed in the genus Lobophyllia. Its fleshy valleys and walls often show contrasting reds, greens and greys. Place it low in the tank or on the sand with low to moderate light and gentle flow, and target-feed small meaty foods now and then. Leave several inches of space, because its night-time filaments sting neighbors.
