In plain words: A lobo coral looks like a pile of soft, fleshy pillows or a brain with deep folds. Under the soft part is a hard skeleton with tall, sharp spikes. Lobos come in red, green, orange, brown and blue. Many have two colors in rings or stripes.

About the Lobophyllia Coral

Lobophyllia, or lobo, has thick, fleshy tissue over large polyps or meandering valleys, often in two contrasting colors. It prefers low to moderate light and gentle flow near the bottom of the tank, and benefits from small meaty feedings once or twice a week. Lobos do not use long sweepers, but at night they push out digestive filaments that can kill corals placed too close.
