In plain words: Green star polyps look like a purple carpet covered in tiny glowing green stars. Each star is a polyp: a little animal with eight feathery arms. Hundreds of polyps share one stretchy purple skin, so the whole mat is really one big family.
Green star polyps (GSP) form a purple mat covered in glowing green polyps that wave in the flow. They grow fast and tolerate a wide range of conditions, so they are a favorite first coral.
They spread quickly, so many reefers grow them on an isolated rock or the back glass.
