In plain words: The Lawnmower Blenny got its name because it spends almost the whole day mowing the rocks. It scrapes off a fuzzy layer of tiny algae and crumbs using teeth shaped like a comb.

About the Jewelled Rockskipper / Redfin Blenny (S)

The jewelled rockskipper is the same fish as the lawnmower blenny: a mottled, big-eyed blenny that hops between rocks grazing film and hair algae all day. This is a small specimen, and adults reach about 5 inches. Add it to a mature tank with plenty of algae and start it on nori or algae pellets early so it does not go hungry. Keep one per tank, and cover the tank and overflow, since it can jump.
