Halimeda sp.
$10.00
A medium clump of Halimeda, the cactus-like green alga built from chains of hard little discs.
In stock and eating
Halimeda grows as branching chains of small calcified segments, a bit like a tiny cactus. It is hardy and slow to spread, and it takes up calcium and alkalinity as it grows, so it suits reef tanks and refugiums. Anchor it in sand or wedge it into rockwork under good light. This is a medium clump.
