Ophiocoma sp.

A spiny-armed Atlantic brittle star that hides by day and scavenges detritus at night.
In stock and eating
Atlantic brittle stars have long, flexible arms lined with short spines that catch bits of food from the water. This is a small specimen. They spend the day tucked into the rockwork and come out after dark to eat detritus and leftovers; target-feed mysis or chopped seafood a few times a week. Acclimate slowly, keep salinity steady and keep copper out of the tank.
