In stock and eating
This Tongan flame hawkfish is bright red with black rings around the eyes and a black band along its back. It spends the day perched on rock or coral branches, watching the tank and darting out for food. It leaves corals alone but eats small shrimp and may pick on small bottom-dwelling gobies and blennies. It grows to about 3.5 inches; give it a 40-gallon or larger tank and varied, vitamin-rich meaty foods to help it keep its red color.
